Save the Date: Wednesday 31th of August
Next session of My Visual Substack Workshop meetup is happening next week!
Hello fellow Substackers,
We will be meeting again next Wednesday, this time one hour earlier, at 13 PM/EDT, honestly just because 8PM (in France) is too much for me:))
Check out the event link to see what time that means for you.
What is My Visual Substack
By Substackers, for Substackers.
This is for all substack writers to meet, chat about the looks of their publication, have fun and grow together! Giving and receiving honest feedback from peers, thinking of your publication in new ways, making connections... Every two weeks on a Wednesday.
Yes, we do breakout rooms:)
Check out the event here and save the date:
You’ll also receive a lu.ma invite to this event in a separate email.
In the meantime, let us know what you’ve been up to on your Substack visually in the comments.
Of course, as someone wanted to know, yes: you can invite people in who you think would be a good fit here.
So see you all next week!
As always,
Jo
Thanks for keeping this going Jo - it's helpful to learn more about the visual side of substack and se what others are trying...
One area in the visual look I am attempting to improve is coordinating 'my look' between the web layout and the emails sent out. For me, this is important because I rely on white space and a clean look. I've found emails (gmail, live, etc.) strip out white space from line breaks and buttons get converted to a text look. It all looks a bit cramped on the email side. One way I'm addressing the issue with stripped out line breaks is a bit old school - I created a simple transparent line break graphic that is 50px high. I just inserted it in the post to create the space I wanted... Plus, I created a couple new line break graphics - here's a link to my latest post: https://myfreshattitude.substack.com/p/how-i-turned-mayonnaise-into-mayo
As always - comments and feedback appreciated and encouraged.
